Taking into account what has been said in ‘Upgradability’, I am looking at which multiway connectors to use. They need to be inexpensive, reliable and have as low a connection resistance as possible. Plus, in keeping with my belief in using the same metals throughout the signal chain, they should be silver plated – they can’t be solid silver as it does not have the required ‘springiness’, silver is a relatively soft and malleable metal.
They also need to be of the correct current and voltage ratings and capable of accepting the wire diameter I am using. And they need to be polarised so they cannot be inserted the wrong way round or put in the wrong plug/socket.
